Police Officer Injured In Norwalk Motorcycle Crash: Report

Police said a Norwalk officer was injured in a weekend crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

NORWALK, CT – Police said a Norwalk officer sustained non-life threatening injuries Saturday after a crash involving a car and a motorcycle. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the area of Strawberry Hill and Walter Avenue, police said.

Police said on Twitter the officer sustained non-life threatening injuries but was "doing OK." The department also thanked Norwalk EMS and the fire department for their help.

"Thank you to all those who reached out," Chief Tom Kulhawik said Saturday on Twitter. "Our MC Officer is OK. Thankfully a top notch helmet and a top notch BMW motorcycle did their job. A testament to allowing us to provide the best equipment to Norwalk’s finest."

According to Fox 61, police said the car was turning left onto Walter Avenue from Strawberry Hill Road and struck the officer on his motorcycle. Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene, and the road was closed as police investigated.
