The osprey is currently in rehabilitation with hopes of having its injuries treated and releasing the animal back into the wild.
NORWALK, CT — Officers rescued an osprey, a hawk-like bird that eats fish, after the animal got tangled in a fishing line Sunday in Norwalk, according to police.
Police said on Facebook the tangled osprey was found in Norwalk Harbor. Officers pulled the animal out of the water, then contacted a wildlife rehabilitator.
The osprey is currently in the care of Christine's Critters Inc., a Weston-based organization that is working to treat the animal's injuries with hopes of releasing it back into the wild, police said.
