Police Seek ID Of Norwalk Bank Robbery Suspect

NORWALK, CT — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a man suspected of robbing a bank in Norwalk on Monday.

In a news release, Police Sgt. Sofia Gulino said the suspect entered Fairfield County Bank on New Canaan Avenue just before 2 p.m. wearing blue latex gloves, a hard hat, sunglasses and a mask resembling a tiger's mouth.

The suspect passed the teller a note demanding cash and indicating he was armed. Rhe suspect did not display a weapon, however he manipulated his backpack to make it seem like he was armed, Gulino said.

After receiving the money, the suspect fled the area in a white sedan, possibly an older Hyundai, with no plates and was last seen in the area of Parallel Street and Cavanaugh Street, Gulino said.
