Police Seize Cocaine, Cash After Stopping Vehicle: Norwalk PD

Police said officers seized over 120 grams of cocaine and more than $1,000 cash after stopping a vehicle in Norwalk.

NORWALK, CT — Police said officers seized over 120 grams of cocaine and more than $1,000 cash after stopping a vehicle in Norwalk. The incident occurred Thursday in a Connecticut Avenue parking lot, according to police.

Police said Francis Bruno, 38, of Norwalk was seen conducting a narcotics transaction near Taylor Avenue. Officers stopped the vehicle after the accused committed several motor vehicle violations, according to a release.

Police said a Darien Police Department canine officer and police service dog detected a narcotic odor in the accused's vehicle, prompting officers to search it. Police said 124 grams of powdered cocaine packaged in 48 separate bags of 1.15 gram and 3.7 gram weights were found in the vehicle.

The accused was also in possession of $1,439, police said. Officers seized the cocaine and cash, as well as the accused's vehicle, police said.

The accused was subsequently arrested on charges of Possession of Narcotics with Intent to Sell within 1,500 feet of a Public Housing Complex, No Turn Signal and Failure to Obey Stop Sign among other charges.
