Preparing your Home for Winter
Fall is the time to prepare your home for the long winter months.

Autumn in New England is the time of the year when mornings start to feel chilly and waking up to the dark pre-dawn sky is normal. We’re all starting to wear sweaters, watching football and thinking about purchasing everything spiced and pumpkin in the super market. It’s also the time to start winterizing your home. These are some of the items you should make sure to tend to in the upcoming weeks….
1. Make sure you have a fixed rate contract with your local gas/oil provider and book a service call to have the unit cleaned and checked for the season.
2. Check your utility contract and make sure you have a low fixed rate plan to avoid any surprises during the winter months. Please visit our website and see our current plans at www.discountpowerinc.com

3. Take a walk around your house – repair rotted wood, air gaps around the windows with “foam spray”, put down storm windows and turn off external water lines.
4. Make sure your attic is properly insulated to avoid a wasted energy spend during the cold months.
