Remember To Lock Your Car, Norwalk PD Says

Throughout Fairfield County, car thefts continue to be a problem.

NORWALK, CT — Norwalk ranks 229th out of 382 metropolitan communities in the United States for car thefts, according to a recent study, and the city's police department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles to avoid becoming another statistic.

In a brief video posted to the department's Facebook page, Sgt. Sofia Gulino asks residents not only to remember to lock their cars, and take their keys and key fobs with them, but also to remove valuables from their vehicles. See the video below.

According to MoneyWise.com, using data from the National Insurance Crime Bureau, Norwalk experienced 158.4 car thefts per every 100,000 residents in 2018.
