Rilling Pleased With Norwalk's Progress In Coronavirus Fight
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Norwalk stood at 2,067 as of Monday.
NORWALK, CT — The city's confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) — and number of deaths as a result of the virus — have slowed in Norwalk over the past couple of weeks, a trend that Mayor Rilling attributes to residents adhering to restrictions.
On Monday, there were no reported coronavirus-related deaths in Norwalk, which means that number remains at 137, and only two new cases, bringing that total to 2,067, according to state and local health officials. The most recent reported coronavirus-related death in Norwalk was on Friday.
"I continue to be pleased with the progress we are making in Norwalk as more businesses open and more amenities are available," Rilling said. "Our case numbers are slowing, which is certainly welcomed news from where we were just a few short months ago. When I am out at a store, or restaurant, I am encouraged to see most people following the guidelines. With everyone doing their part, we can continue to move forward and continue to reopen our City. Keep up the great work, Norwalk."
