Fire Breaks Out At 2-Story Commercial Building In Norwalk: UPDATE
Fire officials said it appeared the blaze started in the stove area of a restaurant and made its way up the vent work to the roof.
NORWALK, CT — Firefighters extinguished a structure fire that broke out Wednesday morning at a two-story commercial building on Westport Avenue, according to fire officials.
In a news release, Deputy Chief Adam Markowitz said the fire was reported around 10:45 a.m. at 48 Westport Avenue with flames and heavy smoke coming from the roof toward the center of the building.
Crews extinguished the fire in about 30 minutes. According to Markowitz, the fire appeared to have started in the stove area of a restaurant and made its way up the vent work to the roof.

No injuries were reported, Markowitz said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Police said on Facebook around 11:30 a.m. the road was closed between Stew Leonard's and East Avenue. The road reopened around 12:30 p.m.
