Road Closed In Norwalk, Other Areas 'Not Passable': PD

Police said a road in Norwalk is closed due to wires down, while other areas in the city are "not passable."

NORWALK, CT — Police said Fairfield Avenue in Norwalk is closed to all traffic as of 2 p.m. on Friday due to wires down. Police also said South Norwalk Electric & Water are en route to the area.

"We are experiencing an uptick in wires and trees down throughout the city," police said Friday afternoon on Twitter. "Assume all wires are live and call 911. Please report any power outages to your utility provider."

Police said earlier in the afternoon that portions of Water Street and the Wilson Avenue area near Wilson Point and Witch Lane are "not passable." Travelers are asked not to drive through barricades or walk in flood waters.
