Road Work Sunday Morning on I-95 North in Norwalk, Merritt in Westport

Sunday morning road work causes lane closures on I-95 in Norwalk and on the Merritt Parkway in Westport and Fairfield.

Left lanes on Interstate 95 in the northbound-traffic lanes in Norwalk between Exits 13 and 14 will be closed Sunday, Jan. 11, until 12 noon, the Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced.

The lanes are being closed for bridge inspection and maintenance work, according to the department.

For the same reason, there will be alernating left- and right-lane closures on the northbound-traffic and southbound-traffic lanes of the Merritt Parkway, Rt. 15, between Exits 42 and 44.

Exit 42 directly connects Weston Road (Rt. 57) with the Merritt. Exit 44 connects the highway with Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield.

In a separate announcement, the department announced at 8:36 a.m. Sunday that lane closures would take place in the northbound lanes of the Merritt between Exits 42 and 44 for no more than four hours. That announcement did not mention southbound lanes.
