Halloween events in Fairfield County on Oct. 29 & 30

That spooky time of year is here once again and many attractions in Fairfield County have planned a spooktacular array of events that are sure to be spine tingling fun!

The Beardsley Zoo for example is decked out in a spooktacular fashion and is offering a haunted hayride, Farmer Beardsley's Farmstead, and the Gruesome Greenhouse ! There are scarecrows, magic shows, face painting and more!

The Fairfield Halloween Haunted House, located on 210 Old Dam Rd. in Fairfield is open Oct. 29 & 30 from 7 pm - 10 pm. This haunted house is for brave souls only and recommended for kids 12 years old and up.

The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk on 10 Water Street has transformed itself into the Aqua-Scarium and best of all, kids in costume get in free at with each paying adult.Ghostly sightings have been reported at

Norwalk's Lockwood Mathews Mansion located on 295 West Ave. Tours of the mansion on Oct. 29 and 30 will focus on the darker history of the house....and special stories will be revealed.

Ambler Farm on 257 Hurlbutt St. in Wilton is offering a "fright night" on October 29 from 6 pm to 8 pm for kids in grades 3-5. Creepy sights and mysterious sounds abound when the moon rises at Ambler Farm. Refreshments included. - Moonlight Hayride - Guessing jar to win the Farm's largest pumpkin - Games, if you dare play...

From 12 noon to 4 pm., the Weston Historical Society is offering a scare fair with games, crafts and entertainment while the Trumbull Historical Society is offering an evening of spooky stories, jack o'lanterns, crafts, food and more on Oct. 29.

Bridgeport's Discovery Museum is hosting a spooktacular time on October 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with spooky science, cool Planetarium shows, and a mad scientist science demonstration! Don't forget your costume for the parade! Guests in costume will receive half-price admission!
