Update: Route 7 Partially Closed in Norwalk After Accident with Injuries

Update: One vehicle went down an embankment, according to NBC Connecticut. The road will remain closed into the evening as police investigate.

Part of Route 7 is closed in Norwalk due to a multi-vehicle accident.

The accident was reported around 3:30 p.m., according to the state Department of Transportation.

The route is closed between exits 2 and 1 and the ramp from Route 15 north to Route 7 south is closed as well.

Motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

The state DOT estimates the scene will be cleared in less than four hours.
