Sample Fine Food, Drinks At Maritime Aquarium

From Maritime Aquarium: Enjoy a unique adults-only night out, sampling fine foods and spirits among sharks and seals, on Thurs., Feb. 7 during the next “Maritime with a Twist” hosted by The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk.

Open to anyone age 21 and over, “Maritime with a Twist” features menu highlights from nearby restaurants in the South Norwalk (or SoNo) neighborhood, as well as refreshments by artisanal distillers, craft breweries and wine retailers. Sample them all from 6 to 9 p.m. while enjoying the entire Aquarium for one price. Participating restaurants include: Bandido Mexican, The Blind Rhino, Bourbon Raw Kentucky Kitchen, Cantiki Taco Deck, Local Kitchen & Craft Beer Bar, Saltwater, Tablao, O’Neill’s Pub, and Our House SoNo. Plus, CulinArt, The Maritime Aquarium’s onsite caterer for parties and other facility rentals, will have a serving table.

Pouring their products will be: Naked Turtle White Rum and Total Wine & More, both of Norwalk; Thimble Island Brewing of Branford; Owl’s Brew of New York; Asylum Distillery of Bridgeport; Charter Oak Brewery of Danbury; and No Worries Brewery of Hamden. The Damon Grant Project will provide live jazz.

“All of the animal galleries will be open, so ‘Maritime with a Twist’ offers a novel combination of great foods, specialty drinks and fascinating marine life,” said Aquarium spokesman Dave Sigworth. “It’s a fun and different night out in a unique location.” Media sponsor is CT Bites. Tickets for the Feb. 7 “Maritime with a Twist” are $40 ($35 for Aquarium members). There’s no extra cost for food and drink after your ticketed admission.
