School Removes Security Officer For Inappropriate Comment: Report

A security officer has been removed from a Norwalk middle school after allegedly making an inappropriate comment to a student.

NORWALK, CT — A security officer has been removed from a Norwalk middle school after allegedly making an inappropriate comment to a student, the Norwalk Hour reported. The alleged incident occurred last week at West Rocks Middle School.

According to the Hour, Norwalk School Resource Officer Joe Rios said the officer was removed from the school the day of the incident after the student reported the comment to school officials. He also said it was not clear if the officer was fired or resigned.

Rios also said the officer had gone through an extensive background check prior to his hiring, according to the Hour.
