Scouting Adventure set at Taylor Farm
Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Girl Scout units will be on hand with lots of fun activities for those interested in seeing what Scouting is about
NORWALK — Local Scouting units plan a day of fun and adventure from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at Taylor Farm to show families with children what Scouting is all about.
Activities include air rockets, rope bridge, gaga pit, climbing station, catapults, Frisbee, rain gutter regatta, sling shots, Pinewood Derby, broomstick hockey, Maritime Aquarium touch tank and stations for first aid, Leave No Trace and STEM.
Norwalk Cub Scout packs and Boy Scout troops will be there to answer questions about their programs and to sign up boys who are interested.
The Girl Scouts also will be there with information on what they offer and how to join.
The event is rain or shine, and will only be canceled if there are thunderstorms or other extreme weather.
The Connecticut Yankee Council is the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America, providing programs and services to more than 12,800 young people and 4,200 volunteers in Fairfield, New Haven and parts of Hartford counties. Boys 7 to 17 can join Scouting any time of the year. Go to beascout.org.
