Some Norwalk Schools To Close Early On First Day Due To Heat

NORWALK, CT — School officials said 11 Norwalk public schools without air conditioning will close two hours early on the first day back of school Wednesday, Aug. 29 due to predicted high temperatures. The announcement was made Monday on the district website.

According to the website, the two hour early dismissal applies to the following schools:

• Nathan Hale
• Ponus
• Roton
• West Rocks
• Cranbury
• Naramake
• Kendall
• Rowayton
• Silvermine
• Tracey
• Wolfpit

After school programs and activities at the schools dismissing early are also cancelled, officials said.
