Norwalk Football Beats Ludlowe 30-14

Johnny Anzalone rushes for two touchdowns as the Bears improve to 7-1 with a 30-14 win over Fairfield Ludlowe

The Norwalk football team moved one step closer to a berth in the state playoffs with a 30-14 victory over winless Fairfield Ludlowe on Saturday.

Johnny Anzalone rushed for two touchdowns for the Bears, who improved to 7-1 and can clinch their first postseason appearance since 1998 with a win over archirival McMahon on Thanksgiving.

Norwalk put away Saturday's contest early, building a 23-0 lead after the first quarter against the 0-9 Falcons.

After Delshawn Wilson opened the scoring with a 10-yard TD pass to Derick Edwards, Anzalone ripped off a 33-yard TD scamper to make it 14-0.

John Wilkins booted a 35-yard field goal and Anzalone raced 77 yards to extend Norwalk's advantage to 23-0.

Kenny Francois romped 65 yards in the third quarter to make it 30-0 before Ludlowe made it respectable with touchdown runs of nine yards by Jimmy Gasper and five yards by Matthew White.

Anzalone helped Norwalk rush for 250 yards and continue its best start since 1998, when the Bers also were 7-1 after eight games.
