St. Matthew Knights help FCA Paint Smiles on Faces of Teens and Seniors
Knights donate funds for a day out for Foster Care teens and Home Care Senior

Since 2009, Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council #14360 has supported the Family & Children's Agency of Norwalk for various programs and events to put smiles on the faces of the foster kids. This year the council donated funds from various fundraisers including the council's Sword & Shield Golf Tournament which was run with Our Lady of the Assumption Council 11077 in Fairfiedl to allow for some teens from foster care and home care seniors for a day of fun, laughs and artistic creativity by going to The Muse Paint Bar in South Norwalk over the summer.
Megan Hague from FCA said it was a huge success. "We mixed up the seating so the teens and seniors could interact, and they had such and fun and engaging time connecting over the art", said Hague.
The FCA does great work in the local community, and our council is honored to help a great organization and most importantly help the youth of tomorrow and our seniors. Seeing the smiles on the kids’ and Seniors faces makes it all worth it,” said Past Grand Knight George Ribellino.

In addition, the council donated funds for backpacks and school supplies for the foster care children in preparation for the start of the school year.
FCA President Robert Cashel was also pleased. “We are grateful to our friends at The St. Matthew Knights of Columbus for sponsoring a summer painting event for our clients. The youth from our foster care programs and our Home Care seniors were able to laugh and connect through a universal expression of emotion, art. The canvas painting event was a new experience for each of the clients who attended and there was a special joy each participant had when they completed their masterpieces.”
