'Stand Up For Justice' Presentation In Norwalk Feb. 23

Stand Up for Justice is presented in honor of DeJaeger’s 90-year-old mother, who was placed in a Japanese Internment Camp from ages eleven to fourteen. DeJaeger will discuss the unique challenges faced by Japanese Americans during World War II, and speak about ways to encourage positive, peaceful and intelligent action to counter and resolve injustice.

The first 50 middle/high school students to register and attend this program, will receive a free copy of They Called Us Enemy by George Takei (one copy per family). Takei’s book considers what it means to be an American and who gets to decide, and suggests what children can do when they feel the world is against them.

Joy DeJaeger is the owner of Harmony Physical Therapy. She is a graduate of the doctoral program in Physical Therapy at California State University Long Beach. She has published and taught physical therapy, in addition to her numerous community service activities and interests, including classical pianist and instructor, Black Belt in kickboxing and marathon running.
