Stew Leonard's To Be Recognized at Kevin's Fund's 17th Annual Benefit Dinner Dance and Scholarship Presentation
In appreciation for 16 years of faithful support through their Wishing Well Program, Stew Leonard’s will be honored at the 17th Annual Scholarship Presentation and Benefit Dinner Dance supporting the Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Stew Leonard’s is being recognized for their support of the mission of Kevin’s Fund which is to recognize outstanding breadth and depth of accomplishments of Norwalk High School students across the spectrum of academics, athletics, arts and religious and community service, the areas in which Kevin participated and excelled.
Stew Leonard’s will join Xerox Corporation and Pepperidge Farm as the Norwalk firms to be formally acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the Norwalk Community through Kevin’s Fund.

The annual benefit event will be held on Saturday April 9, 2016 at the Shore & Country Club in East Norwalk. The event is also the forum for the presentation of the 20th annual Kevin M. Eidt Memorial Scholarship, awarded to the most outstanding senior in the class of 2016.
The 2016 scholarship, in the amount of $100,000, will be presented to the Norwalk High School senior, who in the opinion of the Scholarship Selection Committee, most reminded them of Kevin, in the breadth of their involvement and depth of their achievements in academics, athletics, arts, and community and religious service.

Kevin was co-valedictorian of the class of 1996, co-captain of the boy’s tennis team, member of the of the Marching and Jazz bands, volunteer for Norwalk Soup Kitchen, Save the Children, and American Heart Association, and St. Jerome Parish youth board member.
Kevin passed away in January 1997 from cardiac arrest while playing an intramural basketball game during his freshman year at Boston College.
Since its inception in 1997, including the 2016 awards, Kevin’s Fund has awarded $1,745,000 in merit based scholarships to 132 recipients.
Besides the primary Norwalk High School Scholarship being announced at the April 9th benefit event, Kevin’s Fund also supports scholarships at Norwalk High School for the Marching Band, Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Scholar-Athlete which are announced later in the spring. In addition a $2,000 scholarship, recognizing Kevin was in the Boston College class of 2000, is available to any Norwalk High School senior who matriculates at Boston College in the fall of 2016.
