Stew Leonard's, Local Police And Firefighters Give Out Turkeys

NORWALK, CT — Local police officers, firefighters and officials joined Stew Leonard and members of his store's staff on Thursday to hand out about 3,000 free turkeys to area charities and residents in need.

This year marks the store's the 40th edition of the "Turkey Brigade," in which cops and firefighters form a human assembly line, passing out the frozen turkeys, one-by-one. Recipients began lining up as early as 8 a.m. for the culinary gift.
