NORWALK, CT — Stew Leonard's is voluntarily recalling chicken salad and sliced chicken products at all of its stores because the products may contain undeclared milk, the store announced Monday.

In a news release provided by the store, Stew Leonard's spokesperson Meghan Bell said the products were sold at Stew Leonard's deli departments between August 2022 and Jan. 29 of this year.

According to Bell, the recalled products are:

"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," Bell said in a news release. "No illnesses have been reported to date."

Customers who purchased these products are asked to bring these products back to their store's customer service department for a full refund.

The recall comes just weeks after Stew Leonard's issued a recall of a cookie believed to be connected to the death of a New York resident who ate them at a gathering in Connecticut, according to state and store officials.

In a Jan. 23 statement, Stew Leonard's said the store, in partnership with the Food and Drug Administration, was recalling "vanilla Florentine cookies" sold only at the chain's Danbury and Newington stores from Nov. 6 to Dec. 31, 2023, due to the cookies containing peanuts that were not listed on the product's label.

The recall led to a war of words between Stew Leonard's, who sold the product, and Cookies United, the New York wholesaler who made the cookies, according to WFSB 3 TV.
