Suspect In Norwalk Cold Case Murder Has Court Case Continued
Marc Karun is accused of murdering 11-year-old Norwalk resident Kathleen Flynn 33 years ago.

NORWALK, CT — The case against Marc Karun, the former Norwalk man accused of murdering 11-year-old Kathleen Flynn 33 years ago, was continued to Jan. 23, because he was not available to be in court in Stamford on Friday.
The continuance was requested by State's Attorney Richard Colangelo and granted by Stamford Superior Court Judge Gary White. Karun is in federal custody in his home state of Maine where he is accused of illegally storing an arsenal of firearms. He is expected to be transported back to Connecticut in time for the pre-trial hearing in the murder case in January.

In September 1986, Karun strangled Flynn to death after he sexually assaulted her, Norwalk police say. He became a suspect within weeks of the incident, in part because he was accused of similar crimes the same year, but it took years for forensics technology to catch up to be able to link him to the crime.
Karun also was convicted of sexual assault in Derby two years after the Flynn murder, for which he served a decade in prison.
