SUV Stolen From Norwalk Flees Police, Found In Fairfield

An officer tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped away and the officer did not pursue it, in compliance with state statute, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CT — An SUV that was stolen in Norwalk fled police last week before eventually being recovered in Fairfield, according to authorities.

About 3 a.m. Tuesday, an officer saw a 2003 Honda CR-V LX with dimmed or broken headlights slowly heading east in the 3200 block of the Post Road in Southport, police said, noting the vehicle had been reported stolen Dec. 28 in Norwalk. The officer tried to stop the SUV, but it sped away and the officer did not pursue it, in compliance with state statute, according to police.

The vehicle was found about nine hours later in the 1500 block of the Post Road in downtown Fairfield, police said.
