Teacher at Norwalk's Marvin Elementary School Passes Away

NORWALK, CT — Kara Kovlakas, a third grade teacher at Marvin Elementary School in Norwalk, died unexpectedly on Thursday, officials announced on the school district's Facebook page.

"Mrs. Kovlakas was a wonderful teacher who touched many young lives," officials wrote. "Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and the Marvin community at this difficult time."

The district is providing counselors to students, staff and parents Friday for support.
