Teens Arrested in Norwalk Robbery

Information from community members helped the police investigation.

Two teens were arrested after they allegedly robed the Corner Variety store at gunpoint on August 4.

The teens made off with about $1,100 and other merchandise, police said.

Police investigated and arrested Ernest Morales, 18, of Brooklawn Avenue and a 17-year-old juvenile on August 6.

Morales was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy, first-degree reckless endangerment and carrying a pistol without a permit.

The juvenile was charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy, fourth-degree larceny and conspiracy for larceny.

The community provided valuable information that assisted with the investigation, said Chief Thomas Kulhawik.

“This is another example of the great things that the community and police department can accomplish when working as partners,” he said.
