Temporary Road Closures Announced For Norwalk Police Memorial
The annual ceremony is open to the public. The following roads will be temporarily closed, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Memorial ceremony will be held Wednesday, May 15, at Police Headquarters (1 Monroe Street) at 11 a.m. The event is being held in honor of National Police Week and is open to the public.
According to a press release, the following roads will be temporarily closed from 10:45 a.m. to noon:
- South Main St at Elizabeth St
- South Main St at Raymond St
- Hanford Pl at Day St
- Monroe St at Chestnut St
National Police Week started in 1962 after President John F. Kennedy designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, with the corresponding week being Police Week, according to Lieutenant Terrence Blake. The department will honor their officers and officers from neighboring communities who lost their lives in the line of duty.
