Toddler Eats Drugs In Norwalk, Father Arrested: Report

Police said a New Haven man was arrested after an alleged incident in which a toddler accidentally ingested the suspect's drugs.

NORWALK, CT — Police said a New Haven man was arrested after an alleged incident in which a toddler accidentally ingested the suspect's drugs, the Norwalk Hour reported. The incident occurred Jan. 16 at a Woodbury Avenue residence, police said.

According to the Hour, the 1-year-old child was found to have the drug suboxone in its system after being taken to a hospital. Police said the drug belonged to 29-year-old Matthew Hilton, the child’s father.

Police said two vials of the drug were found on the floor of the residence during a Jan. 21 follow-up walk-through by Department of Children and Families investigators, according to the Hour. The suspect was arrested Tuesday and arraigned in court Wednesday afternoon, police said.
