The Commodores, a U.S. Navy jazz ensemble, has a free concert for the public at 7 p.m., Monday in Norwalk Concert Hall at Norwalk City Hall. This concert and all future Military concerts are free, on a first come, first served basis.

The tickets are available now and will be issued until all seats are filled. [...] Free concert tickets may be obtained at the Recreation and Parks Office in City Hall.

This performance is proudly presented by The Hour Publishing Company and Norwalk Recreation and Parks Department.

Norwalk Veterans Day Ceremony, Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 AM

The American festival Band will perform in concert from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., then the ceremony will begin.
As in the past both the USNJROTC from Brien McMahon HS and the USAFJROTC from Norwalk HS will participate. They eagerly await to see who will be awarded the Stew Leonard Trophy for the best precision marching unit during the 2014 Memorial Day parade.

The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Allan Lenard, BMHS Naval JROTC and Jonathan Sanchez, NHS Air Force JROTC.

The traditional “2 minutes of silence” will be observed at precisely 11 a.m., followed by a rifle three volley salute, performed by the Norwalk PD Honor Guard and then Taps performed by buglers Chris Denke, NHS Marching Bears and Sam Starkman, BMHS Marching Senators. Piper, Deputy Fire Chief Ed Prescott will perform Amazing Grace.

Refreshments, courtesy of American Legion Post 12 Auxiliary, VFW Post 603 Auxiliary and the Hilton Garden Inn, Norwalk, will be served in the Community Room following the ceremony.
