From Velo-CT: Velo-CT is making sure families in our area are “wateraware.” May 15th has been designated International Water Safety Day. Velo-CT is taking action to prevent drownings by offering reduced price swimming lessons during May.

On May 15th at 4:00pm at Velo-CT, Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling will proclaim that it’s also Norwalk Water Safety Day, and Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation’s very own Stewie The Duck will be here to teach children about water safety! The public is invited to tour the Velo-CT facility and see the swim lesson program in operation.

“Learning to swim and the exposure to water safety skills and messages early in life provide a lifelong foundation for water safety” said Velo-CT Director of Swimming Instruction Rob Polley. “We want to ensure that every child can safely interact with water at our facility, at home or while out playing with friends and family. Our lesson program teaches people to become safe in the water as quickly as possible. We offer group and private lessons, for infants, children and adults, 7 days a week.”
