Victoria Torres

Norwalk Resident and Loving Mother

Victoria Torres was born on December 26, 1932 in Guatemala City, Guatemala. She is the daughter of Christina Betancourt and Gerardo Torres. Victoria lived in Guatemala for 43 years, where she married and divorced, raised a family of 8 children (Maribel Tejeda, Gladys Tejeda, Gilda Lopez, Lisbeth Authier, Juan Montoya, Ivonilda Flores, Gus Montoya and Alex Montoya), and lived until 1975 when she emigrated to New York for a better life for her and her younger children. In NY she joined her two older daughters and son. Later, she was joined in NY by the rest of her children. She is survived by seven of her children, fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren & one great great-granddaughter.

Victoria most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, cooking and sewing, she worked as a seamstress for many years. She retired from Luxo Lamp Corporation, in Port Chester, NY. She was a Jehovah’s Witness and enjoyed teaching others about the Bible. She helped many people learn Bible principles and dedicate their lives as Jehovah’s Witness.

She moved to Norwalk, CT in 2003 and lived here until her final day. She lived close by to four of her daughters and many of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her youngest son: Alex Montoya.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 4 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 126 Newtown Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
