Veterans Day (there’s no apostrophe in it) is observed on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014. Here’s what’s open and what’s closed around Norwalk:
Closed Tuesday
- Norwalk city government offices
- U.S. government offices
- Post offices
- Connecticut state offices.
- Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles Offices
- Most banks are closed on Veterans Day. Banks in Connecticut have the option of remaining open on state holidays if they announce that fact to their customers. TD Bank branches in the state will remain open. (TD Bank closes for fewer holidays than nearly any other bank. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas are the last two holidays of the year that the bank will close.)
