Wife Of Norwalk Pilot Says He Blacked Out Before Fatal Crash: Report

NORWALK, CT — The wife of a Norwalk pilot who died in a July plane crash says he "blacked out" before he crash-landed his plane at Martha's Vineyard Airport, according to a Monday News12 report.
Robin Bonnist, the wife of the late Randolph Bonnist, 79, told News12 that there were no mechanical issues when the plane crashed. Officials said that Robin was also onboard the plane when it crashed but was uninjured.

Randolph Bonnist was piloting the plane July 15 when it crashed and died July 20 at Boston Medical Center, officials announced.
The plane crashed around 3:15 p.m. in a grassy area near a runway at Martha’s Vineyard Airport, according to police.

The FAA and NTSB said in July they were investigating the cause of the crash but that no foul play was suspected.
