Woman Reports Boyfriend Struck Her Head With Frying Pan

Says he also pushed her down a flight of stairs while intoxicated. Feared for her dog.

A city man was arrested by warrant Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend the previous day, including hitting her in the head with a frying pan.

The woman called 911 at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to report she'd been attacked by her boyfriend and was injured. Officers found her outside a home at 8 Goodrow St. with injuries to her head, an arm and a leg.

The officers requested paramedics come to the scene to examine her.

According to police spokeswoman Sgt. Lisa Cotto, the woman told the officers she had gotten into a verbal argument with her boyfriend, Erik Wolfe, over his car being repossessed. She told them in order to calm things down, she called a girlfriend to pick her up so she could get out of the apartment.

Wolfe allegedly became extremely angry upon hearing this and pushed her backwards so that she fell to the floor, Cotto said. He then, according to the woman's account, picked up a frying pan and struck her in the head with it, and then pushed her down a flight of stairs.

It was at this point the woman fled the apartment and called police.

Cotto said she told the officers Wolfe had been drinking all night and was extremely intoxicated. She said she was concerned her dog, a mixed-breed dalmatian/pit bull, was still in the apartment with him.

The officers reported they got no response after knocking on the apartment door, which was locked, or trying to call Wolfe on the phone. They eventually forced their way into the apartment and found Wolfe was gone, but the dog was there.

They reported observing numerous empty beer cans strewn throughout the apartment and finding the living room table overturned, indicating there had been a struggle.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Wolfe and took him into custody at the Goodrow Street address Wednesday afternoon.

Wolfe, 46, was charged with second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was held on $25,000 bond and was to appear in court Thursday.
