Word Alive Church Hosts 12th Annual Trunk or Treat - Nov 1, 2019
Thousands Expected to Attend Popular Event

Word Alive Church of Norwalk will be hosting its much-anticipated community-wide, “Trunk or Treat” event on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the church parking lot at 536 West Avenue. This year’s event will feature nearly two dozen candy-filled trunks decorated with a Disney-theme.
Trunk or Treat is a safe alternative to trick-or-treating and provides an opportunity for community members to get to know each other and have fun in a positive and welcoming environment. The free event has drawn upwards of 1500 people in the past and more are expected this year.
“Each year, we look forward to this beloved community event that is so well-attended by our friends and neighbors,” Reverend Artie Kassimis said. “We are grateful to WEBE-108, who will be broadcasting live from the event and Skyzone who will be returning for their third year.”

In addition to filling their bags with tasty treats, children will be able to spend time in the bouncy house, which continues to be a big hit year after year. Additionally, there will be several arts and crafts stations, including pumpkin decorating, sand art, candy apple making, and a marshmallow toasting pit. Free baked goods, popcorn, and light refreshments will be available in the church café and Angie’s Cocinita Food Truck will be selling tacos for $2.00 and nachos for $5.00.
“Our Trunk or Treat event this year is going to be bigger and better than ever,” Reverend Janice Kassimis said. “We want to encourage everyone to come out for a fun family night.”
