When asked about this oil paining, Mr. Bruckmann said, "The story behind the painting is that I was commissioned by an interior designer to do a painting with this beautiful table and was even allowed to take the table home to my studio to work with. While I had the table, I decided to do another painting for myself. Finished the commission and then started this painting. I really like the composition and the effects in the bowl of grapes. It’s a painting that was done a number of years ago when I was working in a smoother, thinner painting style."
The Rowayton Arts Center is located at 145 Rowayton Avenue, Rowayton, CT. RAC’s gallery hours are 11-5, Tuesday - Friday , 10-5 Saturday, Sunday, 1-4 pm. RAC has been a cultural hub for almost 60 years. The RAC Art School offers year-round classes and workshops for creative people of all ages and at all levels. RAC, a not-for-profit organization, underwrites art education programs throughout Norwalk. The Art Gallery and Art School are located on the scenic bank of the Five Mile River.
