3 Firefighters Injured, 10 Residents Displaced In Norwich Blaze
A Tuesday fire led to injuries to three firefighters and 10 residents being displaced.
NORWICH, CT — Three firefighters were injured and 10 residents were displaced following a fire on Main Street on Tuesday, according to The Norwich Bulletin. Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze at 102-110 Main St. at 12:51 p.m.
A second alarm was called when the fire spread to the roof of the circa 1830 building. A fire official said the extreme heat, difficult accessibility, and property modifications made the fire difficult to extinguish, according to The Norwich Bulletin.
Three firefighters were treated and released from Backus Hospital after suffering minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
