5 People Rescued After Boat Strikes Rocks in Norwich

The boat's occupants were on the river in a motorboat when it started taking on water.

NORWICH, CT - Five people were rescued from the Thames River in Norwich after their boat started taking on water Sunday afternoon, the New London Day reported.

Personnel from the Coast Guard and Norwich Fire Department rescued four adults and one child over Easter weekend, according to the New London Day. The boat's occupants were on the river in a motorboat when it started taking on water.

All five were able to get out of the boat in shallow water, the New London Day reported. None of the people on the boat were injured.
