After 3 Arson Cases, Norwich Fire Officials Working to Secure Vacant Buildings
Firefighters said they have responded to three intentionally set fires in the city within a week.

NORWICH, CT – Police and fire officials are taking steps to make sure vacant buildings are safe as they investigate three recent arson cases, The Day reported.
Firefighters said they have responded to three intentionally set fires in the city within a week, according to The Day. In retaliation, fire officials have taken measures to secure approximately 30 vacant downtown buildings.
All three recent fires occurred near or in a vacant building, The Day reported. Officials have been contacting owners of vacant buildings to help secure them, as well as following legal processes to ensure the buildings are safe if owners decline.
