NORWICH, CT — A fire caused extensive damage to a local duplex Thursday night, and multiple firefighters had to be evaluated for exertion, fire officials said.
Firefighters were dispatched at 8:35 p.m. Thursday to 24 North 3rd Ave. for the house fire.
When crews arrived, fire was showing from the first floor and extending up the rear of the building, a 2.5 story, wood frame duplex, officials said.
Ambulance personnel evaluated multiple firefighters for exertion at the scene.
The Norwich Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
