Federal lawsuit claims Waterford police officers left intellectually disabled man paralyzed (theday.com) — A Norwich man's family has filed a $50 million federal lawsuit alleging Waterford police actions during a 2024 dirt bike encounter left the intellectually disabled 19-year-old paralyzed and needing round-the-clock care. The suit claims officers escalated the situation, used excessive force, and mishandled him after the crash, while town officials and police have not yet publicly responded.
4. Roof and wall of former Ortronics building in Norwich collapses (theday.com) — A roof and partial wall recently collapsed at the vacant former Ortronics building on Eighth Street in Norwich's Greeneville neighborhood, but no one was hurt and the structure has been braced.
