• Connecticut cop collected workers' comp, then passed agility test for other department, officials say (ctpost.com) — Norwich residents should know that a local police officer, Ryan Dunn, has been charged with fraudulently collecting workers' compensation while allegedly passing a physical agility test for another department. He's on paid administrative leave as Norwich police conduct an internal review, and he's due in Norwich Superior Court in early September.
   

• 'It looks like a college cafeteria' (theday.com) — Norwich Free Academy students are now eating in a completely renovated Cat's Cafe cafeteria that feels more like a college dining hall, with new seating, decor and a revived deli station. Funded largely through the school lunch account and a state grant, the $1.3 million project aims to boost school spirit and give Norwich teens a more comfortable, modern space to gather.
