• Norwich Council To Consider Low-Income Housing Tax Breaks, Auction Of City Properties (patch.com) — Norwich residents will see their City Council weigh a new tax abatement program aimed at improving low- and moderate-income housing, along with a December auction of more than two dozen city-owned parcels. Councilors will also consider transferring nearly 39 acres of Norwich open space to Avalonia Land Conservancy, accepting a Lambert Drive property in lieu of foreclosure, and acting on Route 82 safety-related land deals and local board appointments.
• Faith For The Future: Annual Catholic Elementary School Collection Set for Sept. 12–13 (norwichdiocese.org subscription) — Norwich parishioners are being asked to support the Diocese of Norwich's Faith For The Future collection on September 12–13, which directly benefits St. Patrick Cathedral School in town and other Catholic elementary schools. Donations given in-pew or dropped at parishes will help sustain faith-based, academically rigorous education for local students across the diocese.
