Body Discovered Near River In Norwich: Reports

NORWICH, CT — The body of an unnamed man was discovered Thursday afternoon near Yantic River Falls in Norwich, according to media reports. The man's identity has not yet been released.

NBC Connecticut writes that foul play was not initially suspected, but authorities are continuing to investigate.

The state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is in the midst of conducting an autopsy to discern the cause of death, reports WFSB-TV.

Norwich police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact the department's Detective Division at 860-886-5561 ext. 3199, according to Fox 61 News.
