Body Found In Norwich Park Identified As New York Murder Victim

A man found partially buried in a shallow grave at Mohegan Park has been identified as a New York City homicide victim.

NORWICH, CT — The body of a man found in Mohegan Park in Norwich has been identified as a New York City homicide victim, according to NBC CT. The man was identified as Martin Wright, 44, who is believed to have been killed by his brother in January.

A person walking through Mohegan Park on Sunday found the body protruding from the ground and reported it to police at around 4:15 p.m.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and later identified as Wright.

Wright, a former welterweight boxer and Brooklyn resident, went missing in January, according to WABC-7 Eyewitness News.

Police found surveillance video showing McMillan Wright, 45, carrying out an unusually large bag at his Bedford Stuyvesant home. McMillan Wright was arrested in Binghamton on March 27 and charged with his brother's murder, according to WABC-7 Eyewitness News.
