Contractor Spills 600 Gallons of Diesel Fuel Near Norwich Reservoir
The spillage caused the plant to shut down for part of Saturday.

MONTVILLE, CT – A contractor at a Norwich water treatment plant spilled approximately 600 gallons of diesel fuel Saturday, according to The Day.
The contractor was providing temporary backup power at Norwich Public Utilities; Stony Brook Water Treatment Plant, according to The Day. The fuel was spilled in the parking lot about 100 yards below the reservoir dam.
An NPU spokesperson said both the facility and water source was at no time compromised, The Day reported. The plant was shut down for part of Saturday out of caution and was reopened early Sunday.
