Cops: Ledyard Man Tried To Attack & Bite Norwich Officers

A 29-year-old from Ledyard is facing three felony and other charges after allegedly trying to bite and attack Norwich police officers.

NORWICH, CT—A Ledyard man who allegedly tried to attack, bite and kick cops while being arrested is facing multiple charges, court records show. And the attempts to bite police are felony charges; when a person uses body fluids, in this case saliva, on an officer.

Cory J. Morgan, 29, of White Pine Road, was reported to have been causing a scene on Water Street Sunday evening and when police responded, Morgan began to attack officers, police said.

Morgan was charged with three counts of attempted assault on a public safety officer, C felonies punishable by up to 10 years in prison if convicted. He was also charged with second-degree threatening, disorderly conduct and interfering with police.

Morgan, being held at Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Uncasville on a $25,000 bond is set to be arraigned Sept. 12 in Norwich Superior Court.
