Danielson Couple Charged In Roy's Pools Investigation: Police
Brian Roy and Christina Hatch-Roy are facing charges that they bilked 20 customers out of thousands of dollars.
DANIELSON, CT — A Danielson couple is facing charges that they scammed 20 customers for thousand of dollars for pool work they never completed, according to state police. The victims, who live across the area in towns such as North Stonington, Lisbon, and Plainfield, paid almost $180,000 total from January to September of last year to Roy's Pools for work that was allegedly never completed.
Brian Roy, 40, of Sterling, was charged with one count of first-degree larceny, eight counts of second-degree larceny, nine counts of third-degree larceny, and one count of fourth-degree larceny. He was held on $75,000 bond.
Christina Hatch-Roy, 40, of Sterling, was charged with one count of first-degree larceny, eight counts of second-degree larceny, nine counts of third-degree larceny, and two counts of fourth-degree larceny. She was held on $35,000 bond.

In one case, a couple paid Roy's Pools $11,000 to provide their 14-year-old autistic and disabled son with a place to do aquatic therapy. The work was never completed, according to a state police arrest warrant. The couple requested a refund but was denied.
In another case, a Lisbon couple said they paid Roy's Pools more than $24,000 for a pool and deck, but have nothing to show for it.
