(Kunstraum) Dada Post was an artist-run organization, founded in January 2008, by Howard McCalebb in Berlin, Germany. In 2022 Mr. McCalebb moved to Norwich, Connecticut, and establish the art gallery Dada Post USA. Mr. McCalebb is a sculptor and active figure on the international art scene. Dada Post USA is an autonomous space for the production, display and discussion of current art. Foremost, we contemplate artistic expression from the standpoint of pure inspiration emanating from the source – the artist. We are keenly interested in the effects of Globalization on art practice, and the notion of a hybridized Post Modern art practice. As a contemporary art space, Dada Post USA is primarily concerned with artwork that is the most current, reflecting the actual meaning of the term: Contemporary Art. We offer a program of exhibitions and events, featuring videos, poetry/literary readings, music and other live performances, during and between art exhibitions. The original inspiration for both (Kunstraum) Dada Post and Dada Post USA was the Cabaret Voltaire in Zürich, Switzerland and Andy Warhol’s Factory in New York City – which were open venues for impromptu gatherings, events, and artistic experimentation. NORWICH, CT — A dirt bike operator was killed Sunday afternoon in a collision with a vehicle on Taftville-Occum Road, according to police. Lt. Stephanie Reichard said police received several 911 calls around 4:02 p.m. Sunday reporting a serious collision near 170 Taftville-Occum Rd. Emergency responders rushed the male operator of the dirt bike to Backus Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police on Monday morning identified the victim as Dale Lucier, 25, of 273 East Main St., Jewett City. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the collision, which remains under investigation. The other driver remained on scene and has been cooperative, police said. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact police at 860-886-5561, ext. 6.
