Police ID Dirt Bike Rider Killed In Norwich Collision

The accident, which happened on Sunday afternoon, is still under investigation, according to police.

NORWICH, CT — A dirt bike operator was killed Sunday afternoon in a collision with a vehicle on Taftville-Occum Road, according to police.

Lt. Stephanie Reichard said police received several 911 calls around 4:02 p.m. Sunday reporting a serious collision near 170 Taftville-Occum Rd.

Emergency responders rushed the male operator of the dirt bike to Backus Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police on Monday morning identified the victim as Dale Lucier, 25, of 273 East Main St., Jewett City.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured in the collision, which remains under investigation. The other driver remained on scene and has been cooperative, police said.
