Former Norwich Man Reportedly Removed From Sex Offender List

NORWICH, CT — Manuel Ramos, a 56-year-old former Norwich resident who now lives in Massachusetts, was on the Connecticut sex offender list for more than 20 years, but no longer, reports the Norwich Bulletin.

Ramos pleaded guilty in 1995 to third-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor after he had sex with a 14-year-old girl who had been a babysitter for his family. He was sentenced to six months in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, both of which have long been completed.

He also was required to register as a sex offender since then, but has had a clean criminal record. As a result, he convinced prosecutors and a judge to agree that he no longer has to register on the list.
